The Alpine Swift (Apus melba) is a large member of the swift family. It is summer resident, from April to September, in southern Europe and western/southern Asia. During the spring and autumn, it’s a rare but annual overshooting migrant north of the breeding range. In September, it migrates south to spend the winter in southern Africa. Text © www.rawbirds.com
